Photographer's Note

This is the second shot from the Nallihan Bird Sanctuary. This time we see the wetland. As the Kızılırmak and Sakarya rivers supply life to the plateau, the area near the rivers has become a habitat throughout history for humans and other various components of nature. Nallıhan Bird Paradise was sanctioned by the General Directorate of National Parks, Hunting and Wildlife in 1994 and is state protected. It is one of 70 bird sanctuaries in Turkey and more than 170 kinds of birds inhabit it.
You can see flying creatures such as falcons, hawks, eagles, Egyptian vultures, red herons, pelicans, greenheads, shags, pintails, cranes, partridges, woodcocks, quail, geese and crakes -- to name a few.
