Here you see the fortress and the Kura River in the city of Ardahan. The Ardahan Province was the first Turkish province on my bike travel through Russia, Georgia and Turkey. The next provinces were Artvin, Rize and Trabzon.

I travelled through this part of Turkey exactly 40 years ago. I remember the nice little town of Ardahan but I cannot recall this view. You found a perfect POV of the wall, the narrow road, the grass and the river running roughly parallel. The Turkish flag is always an eye-catcher and it seems the Turks rarely miss an opportunity to show it.

A gorgeous composition from the first walls along the river, the image then took us to the rugged rocky shore, the other part of the castle above the walls with the flag waving defiantly gives us a picture of the power of another era of this fortress.
Very nice colors offered by the beautiful contrast of green with gray stone and blue as the ideal. Good lighting also.

it looks like you had a wonderful bike trip, crossing different countries...
I like how you've built this compo, starting with the grass in FG creating a kind of triangle separating the river and the road, leading the eye to the walls and fortress, with a good light to illuminate all the elements.

Although I have seen at least half of Turkey, I never had the pleasure of seeing Ardahan. I know you've covered hundreds, perhaps thousands of kilometers by bike in the Ukraine, I had no idea that you had extended your reach to Turkey. This is a beautiful photo, flawlessly composed. The red flag makes a strong focal point, with the meandering walls and undulating topography of the historic site representing the main subject. Have a good weekend,

You chose an excellent angle, we get perspective and depth image.
the Turkish flag upwards is the really eye catcher, with the red color and the half moon.
Excellent composition and original colors.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice sunday,

An interesting old fortification in a picturesque setting!
The flag also tells this place bears some significance in our times...
The scenery is well framed, with the gravel road as an effective lead through the place!
