In the shadows and amidst the aromas and the constant passage of the people through Istanbul's Spice Market, this gentleman's calm, persistent approach to selling his moments of chance to others was a picture of gentle tenacity - holding one's own amidst the constant streaming of humanity.........yet in all that time i saw no tickets bought!

This man is standing out. Not just because of his features, but the way he is standing there. Yes, you can feel persistence! Outstanding!

i'm always fascinated when seeing handicapped people employed to sell all sort of tickets on the streets - basically everywhere but in poland... i find it most precious that the society finds the ways to make those people busy and needed...

and - i find this portrait being an important tribute to the "working class"...

He looks very determined to sell those tickets, quite a character, will not be deterred so easily. A strong portrait of this man at work, which also gives us to think. Great tribute to the daily life of so many. I wonder about that something in the bg by his left ear, what would you think of cloning it out, it attracts a bit too much the eye, but it's only my two cents:-).
