Photographer’s Note
The Aya Sophia was built at the direction of Emperor Justine in the 6th century and has served as Greek Orthodox and Roman Catholic Church -- and for nearly 1000 years the largest in the world - until St Peter’s basilica was built. In 1453 the Ottoman Empire conquered Constantinople and renamed it Istanbul and at this point Süleyman the Magnificent turned the then Church into a mosque added the minarets and changed the name to Aya Sofia.
Three days of wet weather resulted in this unique perspective of one of the world's greatest structures.

Hi Michael,
Very good pov of this great monument of İstanbul. Portrait format is the right choice, specially with the reflection of the St Sophia in the front part of the capture.
Nice graphism and good notes.

Hello Michael, well observed shot plus you were in the right place at just the right time.
The light shining on the mosque is repeated in the puddle;it gives the shot more impact by having the darker section with the people in the centre.
Good sharpness.
Tfs, regards Jean.
