Photographer’s Note
This young helper - perhaps with his grandfather - impressed me with his calm dedication to the task - like his elder who also gave simple and unstinting service to both the task and the people around him at this entrance to a mosque in the city.

Kev,
Powerful shot. I really like the B/W and the blurry older man in the background.
Captures a cool part of a cultural practice.
Have you thought about cropping it a bit? Perhaps making the child bigger and the foreground smaller? Wow that made little sense, I'll see what I can do in shop and try to workshop it.

Well seen, Kev! Good work of two immediate graphical elments (the kid and the carpet). I feel the B&W conversion can be even better if you could crank more contrast out of the obtained toned.
Even so, Well done on the capture - a very interesting shot accompanied by an interesting note!

Good looking boy, interesting details and I think changed it to b&w format eliminated abit the blurred man on background. Its a very good quality picture Kev and I like it.

Hi Kev,
Love the light, the gaze and the DoF on your subject. Yes, clear dedication in his look and pace there. Nice catch!

A great one Kev! I am amazed by his face. For once, I like the centered position. I also like the "hovering" window with its motive in the back too. I am a bit less pleased by the man in the back. The fact that the rug hide him partially is not helping here. I wish the kid was alone. But I guess there is not much you could do.
I am still very impressed by the amount of details the 5D is able to capture...
A very good one, a photo to praise. And I mean it.

Hello Kev
Excellent! His eyes are directly at the camera, his face calm & composed, his stride strong & the details of work on the carpet immaculately captured. The man in the back...I'm not too sure, but being in the dark, he doesn't disturb much. The DOF is perfect, sharp focus on where it should be. I like the tonality of the shot here & went through the thread with Chen as well. Normally contrast boosting works well in B&W images, but in this case, I thing this tonality works just fine...my opinion.
Best Regards
