Photographer’s Note
I was lucky to take a sunrise hot-air balloon ride over this region and captured several photos of neighboring balloons - like this one.
A few million years ago, volcanic eruptions resulted in the soft, tufa-rock formations that cover much of the Cappadocia region of Turkey. In addition to surreal-looking rock formations like these, you'll see cave dwellings, underground cities, rock churches with frescoes, and fairy chimneys (pigeon houses).

Hi Claudia, since I haven't seen the others, I can just be mesmerized by this one!! Truly amazing, must have been a fantastic ride.
I think you cropped the pic cleverly and made a good composition. Tfs.

Hi Claudia
Another pleasing shot of the balloon over this rugged landscape. The exposure was well handled and there is ample DOF.
Happy New Year.

Hi Claudia. Nice picture; good off-centered position of the balloon. The background is really spectacular and the colours come out very good.

Hello Claudia,
A surreal landsape often thought of in fairytales and modern movies. A grand view of the topography wrought by the volcanics of the region. This area appears to be alike the Blue Basin area of the Sheep Rock Unit of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument in Central Oregon where we will also be trekking during June.
Exceptional arial view of this beautiful landscape,
Well captured...

Hi Claudia,
It must be such a great feeling to be gliding over this strange and remarkable landscape. The orange of the balloon is a nice contrast with the surrounds, and is well placed off centre in the composition.

Hi Claudia!
The terrain is terrific like a hand-made creation and the timing from there up was also a good one! The sharpness, I think had to have been better but never mind!
Thanks for posting.
Best regards,
Athanasios.

Caludia,
This is just really nice, I love the overall view of the area showing just how large of the area really is. While I like the color of the balloon, I really find it kind of distracting to the nature of the land. I like your very soft texture and color and tone. Wonderful warm light and good composition.

Hello Claudia,
At the outset I must apologize to you for calling you "Claude" in my response to your critique of my photo from a hot air balloon (I thought you were Claude Simonin, "clodo"). Just as I suspected, this is a lovely shot of balloon, shot from another, with the eerie landscape of Göreme. A very long time ago I remember climbing a couple of the trogldites from inside, then exploring Derinkuyu, the underground city just discovered.
Warm regards,
Bulent
