Since last 29th May I was on a four days trip in differet cities of South-East Turkey.
Historycally also known as Mesopotamia whre the rivers Tigris and Eupohrates meets each other.
Unfortunately this part of my country still suffers under major economical and ethnic problems.
This man on a quite busy shopping Street rolls his own cigarette.

Hi Mesut. Wonderful meeting of kindred spirits- obviously he is responding to your approach and sense of humour. a fine face with lots of character, even catching him half way rolling his cigarette is a master stroke. Is he a Turk or has he Arab or Kurdish background? Best wishes. Klaudio.

it is my life s dream to travel to
Mesopotamia may be in the future
I liked this man s portrait
what is he thinking of?
is he happy?he seems to be happy
for the expression of his face
He rolls his own cogarette
that s why he is happy
have a nice weekend

What a coincidence! My girlfriend (Wanda1) and myself have met the same man while in Mardin, and she even made a portrait of him!
Actually, it feels good to see him again, benevolently smiling (and still smoking...), as it brings me back to the narrow streets of the city where we came across.
Good spontaneous portrait. well done!!

Hello Mesut, very nice portrait of a humble person, which could be in any country I know of, beautifully captured in this interesting image with good sharpness, good light, color and quality. Very good and interesting job well done, congratulations my friend. Thanks for sharing this beautiful work.
Good evening and happy start to the week.
Warm greetings from southern Spain.

A picture that will immediately tell me this is Turkey.
It's almost 30 years ago that I travelled in East Turkey. In my memory, it seems that every man there was a chain smoker (as a non-smoker that struck me). In one hand the tespih and in the other a cup of tea. Well, I certainly enjoyed the tea drinking.
This person is very happy with the attention.
Excellent clear and sharp portrait!
Best regards, Paul

Despite his rather worn clothing and obvious poverty, this man still gives you a delightful happy smile as he stands rolling a cigarette!
An excellent portrait full of character and with lovely light and colours, this man perfectly captured against a beautifully colourful background and with excellent details and sharpness.
An interesting note too about life and culture in southeast Turkey.

What a great portrait ! His happy eyes and serene smile speak of a wise and human soul. You have captured his stubble-bearded face and the tobacco tin held up in his work-hardened hands beautifully. Excellent shot. Well done.
