The Halil-ür Rahman mosque is located at the southwest corner of the Halil-ür Rahman lake and is in the form of a Külliye composed of a mosque, a theological school, a graveyard and the position where Prophet İbrahim falled when he was cast into fire. The mosque was constructed on the area where the Mother Mary Church was constructed in A.D. 504 (Byzantine period) by the financial assistance of Urbisius in the name of monophists in the 13th century during the period of Eyyübi civilization. At the inscription located at the western side of the stone minaret adjasent to the southeast corner of the mosque, it was stated that the mosque was constructed in 1211 by the order of Melik Eşref Muzafferiddin Musa of the Eyyubi reign.

Hi Deniz,

A natural play of light and shade, well conceived with artistic sense in image. The POV that is shared for the shoot is a decisive fact, creating a chain of shades balancing the beauty of the architecture.
Beautifull vision.

Merhaba,

Selam sevgili Deniz,
Bu Urfa karesi de mükemmel. Sımsıcak renkler ve çok güzel gölge-ışık oyunları.
Tebrikler
Selam ve sevgiler
MESUT ILGIM

cześć/merhaba deniz,
whatever story lies behind the mosque, the story of this photo could be found elsewhere... in the two boys... standing on the opposite sides of the water tank and having different poses but both of them searching for something... a marvel in a concept, a piece of art in execution...
love it...
best, j.

O kadar farkli zaman dilimini tek fotografta gorebiliyorsam bence boyle algi dususune can feda...

merhaba deniz

Merhaba Denniz.

The light was...lovely. Excellent. Was the lense dirty? I realized something in the left of the picture...

Hi Deniz, you strike again with the light study, that shadows...
an interesting geometry.Quite a mood here with a summer night and
you were right when you said me that I should trust the 400D on
high ISO.A nice result.Regards friend.

Merhaba Deniz,
Balıklı göl karelerin birbirinden güzel, mavi saate yakın, ışıkların yandığı vakit, netlik, renklerin doygunluğu mükemmel, kemerli kolonların karşı duvardaki gölgeleri çok hoş.Çocukta tam olması gereken yerde duruyor.Çok beğendim eline sağlık.İyi hafta sonu etkinlikleri dileği ile selam ve sevgiler

Selam Deniz,
Renkler, detaylar, arka duvarin uzerine gelen golgeler, gokyuzu cok guzel olmus.
Eline saglik. Selamlar. Salvator.

Meraba Deniz,

Now you made me curious? The monophysits financed deliberately the construction of a mosque at the place where an orthodox church stood. It is true, that the relationship between the Greek orthodox church, which was the only official imperial church and dominated by Greeks, on the one hand and the several monophystic churches, which were not recognized and related to other ethnic groups (Armenians, (partially) Syriacs, Copts and other Arabs) on the other hand, was often tense or even hostile. During some periods the monphysits even suffered from persecutions and consequently some of them felt antipathy for the Greek orthodox church. But to finance a Muslim mosque therefore? Sounds strange to me.

One more beautiful shot of the holy fish farm. I like the soft and warm colors of the evening. The boy stands exactly at the right place.
Cheers
Andreas

Deniz selam,

Hello Deniz,

A superb vew of this beautiful mosque: game of shade and light, reflections on the wall, composition well balanced, great prospect. A very good work.

hi deniz
A fine composition making good use of the shadow on the wall ; although the human presence is a little frozen, the light is well managed

Hi Deniz,
I love the gentle mood of this place. It seems so quiet. The colours and the light are contributing a lot to this excellent result.

Hi Deniz, great shot, you've captured the atmosphere of this special place and reminded me that it's time to go here again. Lovely light and shadows, reminiscent of Arabian nights. The boy's lone figure adds much to the photo. I like this one more than your second one (Arcade Night), because this one captures the mood better. Good stuff! Regards,
Ryno

What I like more to this photo is the game between light and shadows and the creative way of the volume placement in the composition and special the way which the boy looks out of the frame, something that makes the fantasy to work, trying to find out what he looks.
Kostas.
