Photographers Note
Hasankeyf is the most popular area of the vicinity due to its historic wealth. The city stands as living evidence to the multifaceted cultural foundations of the Arabs, Seljuks, Mongolians and Ottomans and houses a plethora of valuable remnants from the past. The place is a major tourist attraction with its unlimited treasure of antique civilizations. Sadly, most of it will be lost under the flows of rivers after the completion of the GAP project for building dams in the region. Work is already on to salvage as much of historical evidence as possible.
Hasankeyfs origin as a settlement area probably dates back to prehistoric times. The city was the pivot of Turkish culture with its plentiful educational and scientific institutes. According to legend, it is named after Hasan, who escaped from the fortress with a miraculous jump over the high walls and into the Tigris.
The golden era of Hasankeyf was as the capital of the Artuklu Seljucks. A grand fortress was built during the time on wonderful limestone structures. The remains of the fortress are a sight to be seen. The other spots of prominence are the wide bridge over Tigris, the Ulu Mosque, the Cizre Bridge, Carsi Mosque, Veysel Karani tomb, Zeynel Bey's tomb, Rizk Mosque, Koc Mosque and Eyyubi Tomb. Most of these historical representations are symbols of the architectural and aesthetic tastes of the flourishing civilizations.
Currently, tourists will find small rest rooms and eating joints in the numerous caves of Hasankeyf. You can enjoy a truly remarkable experience when you see history so closely in the magnificent remnants of the place.

Cómo un paisaje aparentemente monótono aparece lleno de matizes...muy buena.

Hello Burak,
I like this very rich warm colour gamma. The landscape looks almost fantastic (due to the colours, I suppose) and reminds a little of the landscape of some distant planet, though it's very earthly... with the bridge and all these buildings.
greetings from Moscow,
Elena

Merhaba Burak,
What a fabulous place, Hasankef must be, steeped in so much history. I like the vantage point you've chosen that reveals so much of the area. The remnants of the bridge abutments draws one's eyes, along with the sun parched landscape. The Tigris River is unusually full for July. I would have expected it to have reduce to a trickle by the summer. I'm glad to see that your daughter has joined this enjoyable hobby club. There is no doubt that it improves one's photographic skills, not to mention one's critiquing skills.
Warm regards,
Bülent

Merhaba Burak,
It's a great view over that scenic valley that reminisces the fabled idea I have of that part of the world (or the regions more to the East, I don't know), a mix of fertile valleys that look a bit arid in the Summer, ruined vestiges of antique constructions and stark and dry hills. The river, the road, the bridge and the building with the chimney are very neatly placed, resulting in a beautiful compo. Great clarity and colours.
Selamlar, José.

Hi Burak,
Easy to understand why it is a popular spot, not only for the historical value... it also looks beautiful, and you chose a good moment with nice delicate light enhancing the colors and textures. Nice POV and framing too.

Hello Burak,
An amazing landscape, where I notice the almost complete absence of vegetation, a scene dominated by the earthy brown!
The curving river is a fine element in the composition, and I notice the remains of the old bridge...
A well balanced composition with fine details!
Greetings,

Light, colours, and clarity are the best features of this photo, and of course the interesting landscape. I'm fascinated by the intense colour of the land and of the river, and the old broken bridge is a eye catcher.
Best regards,
