Photographer’s Note
This is a tradition in Norway and Denmark. Each year in 23 June, one of the lightest days of the year, we make a bonfire. We call the day St. John's eve, named after John in the Bible. In Norway we call it St. Hansaften because of the danish name for St. John. There is also another name: Jonsok, which means "John's wake".
This shot was taken in Turkey, but on a Nordic hotel where they celebrated this event. They also celebrated the swedish tradition "Midsommar".
Thanks for watching!
