Photographer's Note

Perge (Antalya)
This large site in the coastal plain, 15 km east of Antalya, consists of an acropolis with occupation dating back to the Bronze Age and a large city to the south. The main period of prosperity was in the Hellenistic and Roman periods, from the 2nd century BC to the 3rd century AD. Perge has been investigated since 1946 in a series of excavation campaigns led by Arif Mansel and Jale İnan, and currently by Halūk Abbasoğlu.
