Another capture from my recovered SD card !
Taken in Çıralı / Antalya .
Çıralı is in the zone of the Tauros montains which has all characteristics of the Meditarenean region.
The plain of Çıralı is bordered by Mt. Musa, Mt .Omurga, Khimera and Karaburun. There are paths to climb to these mountains which give breathtaking views for the trekkers. The valleys which are formed among these mountains; the rivers Akçay, Ulupinar and Andizli flow into the sea. The Ulupinar river also supplies drinking water to the area. The water of the Ulupinar decreases and in summer stops flowing totally. Especially in April/May and June the river offers a lovely trekking route with clear flowing water, small waterfalls and ponds to swim in. Yanartas/Khimaria which is in the northwest of Çıralı Plain is formed of serpentine and limestone.
Because there isn't a fusion in connection points of these two different rock structures, gas leakage (mainly methane) occurs from splits.
This rocky area which has been burning for ages, adds magnificent beauty to the region especially at nigth. Hellenic ruins found very close to the fires mean that the fire region was important in the ancient times also.
Yanlışlıkla silinen SD Card'dan kurtarabildiğim bir başka kare. Antalya Çıralı'dan bir görüntü.
Kayaların arasına sıkışı kalmış metan gaz'ı asırlardır yanmaya devam ediyor !

From the thumbnail I thought this was a rampaging river, but now I see it is a dry river bed perhaps. Thanks for sharing this strange place. In India too we have places where we see fire coming out of the ground, but that is due to excessive and unplanned mining. Here as you say it has a natural cause. Good one thanks for sharing.

Very interesting note introducion serving us for the best image compression.
A magnificent composition, and of great interest with that of the mountain, with the flames coming out of the bowels of the earth.
Nice color, in these natural tones.
Also both sharpness, such as lighting are great.
Well done. I Like
Enjoy a nice day.

What a very interesting and fascinating place. It really looks like fires burning in the middle of a rapidly running river. I can't recall ever hearing of this place before. There is such an amazing number of interesting places to visit in Turkey.

Fine view of the very unusual Cirali fire stone landscape. Unlike any natural phenomenon I have witnessed. And I would like to see the Hellenic ruins also.

Ces flammes sortant de la roche sont vraiment très étonnantes. Un bien curieux phénomène!
