Istanbul Trip, Day 7, Scene 1
Marmaray is a rail transport project in Istanbul. It comprises an undersea rail tunnel under the Bosphorus, and the modernization of existing suburban railway lines along the Sea of Marmara from Halkalı on the European side to Gebze on the Asian side. The procurement of new rolling stock for suburban passenger traffic is also part of the project. The name Marmaray comes from combining the name of the Sea of Marmara, which lies just south of the project site, with ray, the Turkish word for rail.
The first phase of the project opened on October 29, 2013. I was curious about this dream of a century come true so we took a ride on Marmaray from Sirkeci to Üsküdar on Thursday.

This project opened a few days after my leaving Istanbul. I haven't heard about it earlier so I was surprised when I saw the news in TV, as I haven't seen it. I was in Sirkeci railway station but it looked not used. So where it is? How was the ride? It is such a long trip by busd through the bridge so it must be fan to go by this Marmaray. Interesting composition. WArm regrads MAlgo.

You're capturing well this railway station by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the smart/modern station. I can see the railway platform from Crevice of entrance gate. Anyway, it's great project for connecting the Bosphorus through the tunnel, and I think that many regidents welcome this new route.
