A Floating Restaurant situated on the Bosphorus waterway in Istanbul - if you look close enough you will see the patrons arriving & leaving by boat to go back to the mainland.
The Bosphorus is a body of water that connects the Black Sea with the Sea of Marmara & separates Europe from the Anatolian Peninsular of Western Asia... Istanbul is located at its South end...
Turkey is a wonderful place to visit - just amazing - I would not hesitate to go back again... Please Enjoy!!!

this floating restaurant seems very busy here. So many people are coming and going. Interesting painting-like postprocessing. You can see Kiz Kulesi at night here:
have a beautiful weekend Malgo

Hi dear Dawn
So lovely image full of nostalgy covered by so fantatsic white high key light / color.
Brave horizontal bold cropping is the best choice.
All the best and have a good weekend! TAKERO

I like your composition and panoramic crop. The high key tone is unusual but attractive. It provides an old-world atmosphere.

Complimenti. Una foto eccellente.
Ciao e buon fine settimana

A very impressive panorama, reminiscent of early photos at the beginning of the 19th century. The ancient rock towered building surrounded by the white Bosphorus, with boats and shore birds and ships in the background.
I also think that Turkey is often overlooked by lovers of the ancient Mediterranean.
Have an excellent weekend,

Great ideas, seems to work as a mixture of high-key art and photojournalism for me, lovely that you managed to retain excellent detail throughout with a strong lead and balance with those seabirds and beacon. But I love the retro feel, that real sixties look about it to me. Fine capture, tfs

From thumbnail is seen as an icy panorama, but it is not!
Weird yet fantastic colors, bravo!

a beautiful and very unusual photo, just like an old graphics.. there's a vintage feel all over it. The light and colors are very special. It doesn't look like a restaurant to me, more like a lighthouse. And I don't remember seeing it when we were cruising the Bosphurus:/
Love the seagulls in the foreground...
Did the two best gourmets of Australia try the cuisine there?:)

Hi Dawn !
The way that you are presenting this photo is just sensational and it is because some very inspired processing ..... the soft colour that dominates the images is so pleasing... it is just a delight to look at it.

Good afternoon Dawn,
Strong light that enhanced the water to a metalic tone and yet contrast well with the seagulls flown over.
The known tower and the shipyard beyond are nicely collected on the image.
Fine clarity and outlines, applied the crop just perfectly.
Have a nice week ahead,

You're capturing well this scene by a good panoramic view and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see a floating restaurant in Bosphorus waterway and the calm waterway with many seagulls and boats. The restaurant looks like tasteful design. The who;e is harmonized well by a good arrangement and the good atmosphere as the painting. And, it's also impressive in dock of backdrop.
danos (92602) 2013-11-17 1:56
nice the view as the presentation of the floating restaurant in this exciting environment.
The flying birds on the foreground and the boats the approach to this landmark of Istanbul,
is really very effective.
Highmountains (2674) 2013-11-17 7:41
That must be an expensive restaurant to go to. Its at the crossroads of history and it must be amazing to run a business out there...
As a photograph, the birds, the boats and the huge ocean liner gives me an excellent idea of the distances and the relative sizes... Overall the idea is unique and I like it.

I am not such an expert that can tell exactly what you did for postprocessing, but I like it. It gives a surreal look to the photo without taking w=away from the information it conveys. I also like the flock of cormorants (?) included in the foreground. Thanks for such a unique photo.

Brilliant photo with superbly balanced composition. I like the bright light tones and very well balanced colors. It looks almost like a nice painting. Excellent artwork. Very well done my friend.

Hi dear Dawn,
you have given an interesting effect in this photo, because of a strong contrast created by a bit of overexposure, and a subtle and soft colours.
This restaurant placed in the small island, called Kiz Kulesi or Leandro's Tower, stands out beautifully in the middle of the Bosphorus, and I love the atmosphere created by the boats that crowds the place.
A nice work.

Très particulière cette vue Istanbul, l'originalité de ce restaurant sur la mer, joli avant plan avec les mouettes, un rendu des couleurs très particulière, bien réaliser

Even if the food in this restaurant is not that good I would love to dine there for it's unusual location. Very creative idea, nicely captured with nice details. Well done, tfs.
jmdias (59992) 2013-11-22 0:25
curious the color of the sky and the see here, in the miniature looked like a plain covered with ice.
very nice details like this tower, the birds and the boats. TFS.
