"The Rüstem Pasha Mosque (Turkish: ' Rüstempaşa Camii') is an Ottoman mosque located in Hasırcılar Çarşısı (Strawmat Weavers Market) in the Tahtakale neighborhood, of the Eminönü district of Istanbul, Turkey. The Rüstem Pasha Mosque was designed by Ottoman imperial architect Mimar Sinan for Grand Vizier Damat Rüstem Pasha (husband of one of the daughters of Suleiman the Magnificent, Princess Mihrimah). Rüstem Pasha died in July 1561 and the mosque was built after his death from around 1561 until 1563."

A view looking straight up at the main dome. Non muslims are allowed in with a few reasonable rules. No shoes, visitors area only, no flash, & not during main prayers. The outside of the mosque can be seen in the wiki link above.

You have composed this really well to show the extent of the dome and still emphasise the pattern. For an inside shot, without flash, and not a great ISO the clarity is superb.
Were you allowed a tripod?
My warm regards,

Interesting shot of the dome of the typical Turkish Mosque. Superb symmetry, colours and sharpness. I like visiting mosques, thanks for sharing. With usual limitations but you can visit mosques in Turkey. In Morocco it is not possible at all for not muslims, anyway it was so when I was there. Warm regards

Recently I have visted the Mosques. Concerned to their story through the time have no knowledge. I was occupying in taking photos but this time I haven't appreciate my work because they are not as I pretended. The one you did is not dark. I wonder for this excellent work. Nevertheless I want to return to Istanbul. So photographic cameras sometimes are not indicated for interiors. I found the mosques may had more light. Warm regards. Tomi
