This mosaic decoration depicts Justinian, on the left, and Constantine, on the right, offering the Hagia Sophia and the Byzantine Empire, respectively, to Mary and infant Jesus.
From my '85 visit back home. More information on Hagia Sophia (Aya Sofya in Turkish) can be found in the Wikipedia article Hagia Sophia.

Picture is very well taken, very good sharpness despite of position and reflections of the light.
thanks and regards!

Lovely rich mosaic so typical of Orthodox churches. Nice contrast between the blues and the golds.
Interesting note, but did you realise you duplicated it in English ?
My post 110 also talks about Emperor Constantine whom we were taught to worship in our Catholic education, because he was the first Christian Roman emperor.
The discussions that ensued were real eye-openers.
All the best.

You're capturing well this by agood composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see this mosaic decoration of saint, mother Mary and infant Jesus. It is visible to the decoration which a religious atmosphere is very strong and has dignity. It's very beautiful for color contrast of blue, yellow and white. And, it's interesting in characters of both sides.

Marvelous mosaic art work, Murat, and good perspective on.
Old stuff well scanned, blue tone contrast on the golden background wall.
Have a nice day,
