Istanbul Trip, Day 5, Scene 3
Today's upload is to answer Malgo's (Malgorzata Kopczynska, emka) question about what I heard at the concert. The first half was Beethoven's Violin Concerto. The violonist was Demonico Nordio. The second half was Fazıl Say's Istanbul Symphony, so we can say Istanbul Symphony played Istanbul Symphony. This is a work that employs traditional Turkish musical instruments. Burcu Karadağ played the ney (a wind instrument), Aykut Köselerli the percussion and Hakan Güngör the kanun (a type of large zither). The conductor was Gürer Aykal.
This photo was taken at the end of the concert. To the right (our left) of the conductor's podium are Güngör, Karadağ and Köselerli (from our left to right). On the other side of the podium is Aykal. The WS has another photo of the concert hall. For those interested, YouTube has a performance of this symphony by Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Howard Griffiths (actual music starts at 7' 30'').

Hello Murat, Thank you for the answer!! I know of course, Beethoven's concerto but I have never heard this Istanbul Symphony and I have no idea about Turkish music instruments.I find it strange that Köselerli is not in tuxedo. Excellent interior shot. Have you met Deniz?

Although not my preferred genre of music, I can certainly appreciate the sophisticated aspect. More than anything, I love the moment you've captured...the people clapping not only suggests motion, but a great sense of approval and enthusiasm for the nights show. The blue dress and rustic red instruments really make their presence known in this scene, but in a very agreeable fashion. Once again, a very pleasing result from a hand-held, low light shot. Enjoy the rest of the evening. Take it easy.
Someone apparently forget to tell Old Man Winter that it's now Spring, yeah? :)

For an indoor shot, this is very well executed. We have fine details of the performers but we, also, have the mood and enthusiasm of the audience. The scene is complete!
My warm regards,

you captured this lovely scene in a very effective way, all the significance of the moment is there, the contentment of the artists and the appreciation of the audience. There's a very fine layout in the panoramic frame and the cropping has brought them closer to each other. I also like very much the way you captured the diffused light and the warm and vibrant atmosphere. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,
