Go ahead with b&w oldies.
This one is also a quite strange and typical fishing methode for Borphorus.
This fisherman sitting on seashore watches ths sea and whenever he notices that they are greater groups of fishes swimming he stands up and throws the net (on his shoulder) like a huge umbrella in the water.
Due to lead buttons on the edges of the round net it starts to move towards the bottom of the sea and after a while he starts to take a rope at the center of the net out of the water. If he has luck, the net comes back full with fishes, if not ; he sits again back to his place and starts to wait the next group.

Siyah Beyaz nostaljik karelere devam.

A man sitting quietly by the water almost covered on a net makes quite a sculpture like impression. B&W enhances this result. Thanks for a detailed note describing what is actually going on.

I'd like to sit there and try this technique too!
even if you don't come back with fish I think it'd be fun to try.
I take it this is still done today of course too.
do you remember if he caught any? maybe not because it was a long time ago :)

this old, grainy look enhances here excellently historic quality and dimension of this scene. And besides it adds some artistic element to the whole work.
But I must say there is a lot more than just the mood and technical aspect of the shot.I like equally the scene itself and how you composed it.
Just the lonely fisherman sitting at the seashore-sounds simple, but seen through your lens it becomes so evocative and like I said very artistic!
Have a nice sunday
