This is a detail capture of the wall of an old house in Sile İstanbul.
It's age is been estimated to be around 150-200 years.
The technique was complicated but very practical and at the same time created a natural protection against extreme colds and hots.
The main frame was been made with wooden sricks, creating almost a birdscage. Than covered with a mixture of earth, dry hay and eggwhite.
On top of it the last sheet was a plaster consisting of fine sand and chalk.
The last sheet was than the paint mainly blue or yellow.
Ev'in duvarları önce bağdadi çıtası denilen 5 cm genişliğinde

Really a very appealing composition verging on the abstract. I like the contrasts in tone and the light and shadow play. Superb rendering of the textural detail. Very well observed and beautifully presented.

Merhaba Mesut Bey,

Hi mesut, Such dilapidated walls are so attractive for photographers! Nice view showing how they built walls long time ago. Educational shot and beautiful at the same time.

This is a wonderful "abstract" composition formed by the cracks and fading colours. The decay also gives us an insight into the building technique more precisely described in your note. It is sad to see the destruction of what must have been a very nice building, but the details you have zoomed into have a great beauty.

Merhaba dear Mesut
A very artistic shot, with wonderful textures and saturation. I like the tight framing and the subtle white cornice around it, which complements it nicely.
Thanks for sharing, have a lovely day

Fantastic textural, colour and lighting contrasts here between the wood stone and plaster, the yellow and blue & the dark shadows and bright highlights. Effective tight framing and very good sharpness and saturation that looks realistic. Tfs!

Hello dear Mesut,
a wonderful photo that reveals the secrets of this old wall in an intriguing and artistic way. I like very much the play of textures and colours, the effective shadows and the worn materials that you have captured with sensibility and precision. There's a long story in these details. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely evening,
