Photographers Note
Under this huge plane tree, there was the grave of an islamic martyr.
İn sixties, women who were not been able to get a child, visited this grave ,prayed there and .
Later ,when they succeded to get a baby, they visited him once again and made him a gift in kind of a typical turkish sweet called "halwa" . Therefore the martyr there was been called as "Helvacı Dede" ; which means "Granddad the halwa maker" !
The place was mainly been visited on Fridays; and than as you can see on this capture as well, many sellers were been around ; like the simit (a kind of bagel) seller to the left of the picture.
In late sixties than, during the huge construction and reconstruction works in İstanbul, this grave disappeared.
But İstanbul is still full of similar martyr graves.

The note made this visual even more appealling. I like the way this stark and old tree stands as generations below it change. We have several such places in India as well which are visited by those in need. people go they wish and then they return to thank. Nice image.

Merhaba Mesut Bey,
Super kompozisyon. Agacin hasmeti, detaylar harika. Simitci de sanki karede olmazsa olmazi gibi, harika. Kontrast, isik da tam tadinda.
Notlariniz da cok aciklayici, kisa ve oz.
Cok keyifleniyorum fotograflarinizdan ve notlarinizdan.
Selamlar. Salvator.
