Istanbul Trip, Day 3, Scene 9
I don't know why Beyazıt Tower is not as popular as Galata Tower on TE. It is located on the opposite hill across the Golden Horn from Galata Tower. It is a fire-watch tower in the courtyard of Istanbul University's main campus (which used to be Ottoman Ministry of War) on Beyazıt Square (known as the Forum Tauri in the Roman period). It is currently equipped with lighting system to indicate weather conditions in different colors.

This is fine picture from the ferry/harbor. Not the best of lights for a good photo, but you have done well to include some colourful houses and bright decorative light to lift up the mood under such a depressing sky. Nice shot from Istanbul, thanks for sharing.

Again you have produced a good shot under difficult weather conditions, good view across The Golden Horn.
I can taste the fish sandwich that are sold in the floating BBq's. What was the colour for your weather conditions. HA HA. We stayed in a hotel across the main road from the Tower.

I like the electric neon and bright colors along the waterfront contrasting strongly against the dull grey sky. I know the weather did not cooperate and I must check out this tower before I leave Turkey. Good pp work and a pleasant diffused light. The tightly packed houses on the hillside add interest. Tfs!

Really a bad weather you had encountered, Murat - this could had been a stunning and colorful shot is conditions would be better.
Anyway, always good not to give up a photo, and you managed three subject here: the tower prominently above the skyline and the waterfront cafe's and restaurants in joli lights areey, with the ferry just set off.
Than, the houses in a labyrinth texture also shown beautifully.
Great perspective, cheers.

merhaba Murat Bey,
Dediğiniz gibi hep Galata Kulesi fotoğraflarına alışmıştık ama farklılık hem güzel hem iyi oldu. Sizin bakışınız ve çekiminizle çok güzel bir paylaşım, tebrikler

You're capturing well this cityscape by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see s lot of colorful and tasteful buildings/houses which are standing on the hill, and tall Beyazıt Tower. It's also impressive in restaurants faced to The Bosphorus. And, flying seagull draws out a good atmosphere as well as a ship which anchored to the port.

Aside from the overcast and flat weather conditions, you've managed to extract a lot of color from this scene. I've always enjoyed these compressed types of images, packing and stacking so much of the city into a single frame. I like that the tower stands prominent above the skyline, filling the negative space and acting as a strong focal point. The waterfront looks to be a lively one, and the neon lights really stand out well here. The gull is a nice touch as well, good timing to infuse that action and fill just a bit more of the sky. Have a good one. Take it easy.

despite the weak light, the rainy weather and the fog this image has fantastic details and the framing of elements is perfect. the tower and the seagull are marvelous positioned here. TFS.
