Galata tower was one of the first places Deniz took me after we´ve met on Taksim square.
Built in 1348 during an expansion of the Genoese colony in Constantinople. The Galata Tower was the tallest building in Istanbul at 219½ feet (66.9 m)when it was finished.
And as you can see it provides tourists with excellent views of the whole Istanbul(ok.maybe I exaggerated a little bit:)as Istanbul is really, really huge)

A great view of Galata Bridge, As usual the bridge is full of the local anglers. Great detail in the buildings leading to the bridge and also acroos the bridge to Eminonu. Did you try a fish sandwich that they sell from the little boats to the left of the bridge on the far side you can just make them out.

Amazing capture from my beloved homecity ! A pity that I didn't meet you when you have been here.
Very god pov and layout.
Close to this foremost building is my school which I'd visited between 1953 and 1961 ; the Austrian College.
TFS and best regards

This is a fantastic view. There is a lot to look at and I like the diagonal position of the bridge. It's also nice and sharp.

Very good and original composition, as of this fabulous city, I really like this one, which presents in the foreground, this original building, which looks like a castle with its towers and chimneys, then the Galata bridge image, focusing the entire plane is wonderful, to continue with the formidable DOF, the old city and the minarets of mosques.
Very nice colorful tones very effective.
Good management of light and good sharpness.
Splendid image. My compliments.
Have a nice day.
All the best.

Adorable view on the Galata, and an agreeable light and colors collected, Krzysztof.
Town houses seem superbly in clarity, and the red roof-tiles in great contrast. Funny, but i tried to count how many small domes in this picture - surrounded after counting 17 - that's to say, it is a unique architecture's built place.
Charming and imporessive sight, so well collected.

It was Deniz' photots that first taught me how immense this city is, and you have shown that well here with this amazingly expansive view over the city. THis is one of those scenes I would sit and study for ages, looking at every building, every window and enjoying the myriad of colors. I love the minarets of the mosque rising in the distance! Beautiful.
thanks as always

Widze, ze zrobiles wiecej niz jedno zdjecie w Stabule. ;)
Pionowy format bardzo dobrze pasuje do kompozycji w ksztalcie litery Z, a czerwone dachy ladnie kontrastuja z kolorem nieba i wody.

Witaj dear Krzysztof
Ahhh to this is where you escaped to. eh? A stunning photo and what I like most about it is that many would have been tempted to use a landscape format and you resisted that temptation. The photo has a great depth because of it, stunning colours and textures, which have definitely, but subtly been accentuated by the light HDR. An impressive work of art, dear friend. Well done!

i can give you the names of at least 15 places seen here, it is full of so many details for a local's eye. the result is surprizingly colorful for a very dull sky. the sharpness of the lens is amazing. i was thinking you were RAW processing, but no? that windows tool can't help the color temperature adjustment.

Good evening, Krzysztof,
Great! I have never been in this district of Istanbul. Although we were on the both banks and I have spent couple of days there. Perfect composition, fine DoF! I also like your choice of the PoV.
I really like our TE-community. We have got a big opportunities in this world.
Greetings from LA!

a very long, impressively detailed and stunningly clear perspective over Istanbul. Your picture is wonderful and combines, in my opinion, the allure of an old postcard with the precision of modern photography. The moody atmosphere is quite romantic, you captured lovely tones that convey the age and elegance of the city. Beautiful work, congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,

A crisp and clear picture and a stunning view from the top. Excellent composition with the bridge in a diagonal across the frame. Lots of interesting details and lovely red roofs. Very nice work! Thanks.

Easy to understand and appreciate why this would be well worth the visit...the city of course, but the tower itself offers up an incredible view! I would guess most people would go straight for a horizontal composition to try and catch everything as it's sprawled out, but this vertical arrangement is a doozy!
I love the contrast of bigger buildings along the bottom half, and the condensed perspective of smaller buildings on the other side of the river. This has been a fun and intriguing study of every detail, shape, architecture and color from top to bottom. Looks to have been somewhat of an overcast sky, but you've managed to still bring out the best! Awesome shot my friend, and just another visual to reinforce my own desires to make a visit. :) Enjoy the new day. All the best.
Cheers from the sunny side,

Wspaniale zdjecie pokazujace panorame Istambulu. Most slicznie rozdziela dwie czesci miasta a super ostrosc pozwala na dostrzezenie najmniejszych detali.

Hi Krzysztof - Although thronged by visitors, the Galata Tower is still a great place from which to gain a feel for Istanbul isn't it?
From this POV we can see many of the landmarks of this remarkable city and your capture and presentation is clean and clear providing a very good impression of the city.
Oh happy days.... I dream of going back!

Fantastyczny widok. Tu z przodu to chyba kościół św. Antoniego, dalej most i Nowy Meczet. Super kadr i ostrość. Mozna sie wpatrywać i wyszukiwac szczegóły. Pozdriawam MAłgorzata
