Photographer's Note
From Wikipedia:
"The Sultan Ahmed Mosque (Turkish: Sultanahmet Camii) is an historical mosque in Istanbul. The mosque is popularly known as the Blue Mosque for the blue tiles adorning the walls of its interior.
It was built from 1609 to 1616, during the rule of Ahmed I. Like many other mosques, it also contains a tomb of the founder, a madrasah and a hospice. While still used as a mosque, the Sultan Ahmed Mosque has also become a popular tourist attraction."
Taken from the roof of the 7 hills restaurant in Sultanahmet. The swirls and specks in the sky are seagulls. No tripod used but I did rest the camera on a corner post.

Hello Chris,
A wonderful night picture made with fantastic light also the minarettes are splendid.
A pity we missing one top of tower, this is a small detail, and not immediate disturbing.
Sharpness and clarity are pleasant.
Lovely composition, excellent captured, lovely presentation.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice day,
John

Hi Chris,
The subject is well framed. Using an ISO of 1400 and a slow shutter speed is allowing me to see the details and colors of the Sultan Ahmed Mosque. It has also a special effect on the colors. Well done, have a nice day.

Merhaba Chris,
This is an excellent night shot of the 400 year old Sultanahmet Cami. The practice was that wealthy people could bankroll the building of mosques with up to two minarets, and only Sultans could build minarets with up to four minarets. The ruler, Sultan Ahmet, was known to have been eccentric (if not insane), that he had ordered the building of a mosque with one "altin" ("gold") minaret. His builders realized, however, that even in the vast Ottoman treasury, there was not enough gold to build a solid gold minaret. Instead, they built the mosque with "alti" ("six") minarets, claiming they had misunderstood "alti" for "altin." The story is most certainly apocryphal, after all the Sultan resided in Topkapi Palace within an earshot of the intended location of his mosque.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Bonjour Chris,
J'aime beaucoup la technique utilisée pour faire ressortir toute la beauté de la Mosquée à l'heure bleue. Les détails sont d'une très belle netteté. Bravo

Hi Chris!
Lovely capture on the Haggia Sophia. Love the colors (blue and yellow/gold) seem to go together pretty well. One thing i noticed that it lacks shapness and clarity, and the chopped of towers are quite disturbing a little. probably zooming out a little won't hurt the close up picture. =) (just my opinion) Anyway, thanks for sharing this one!

Chris

Hi Chris
A stunning shot, especially knowing you had no tripod. I initially thought that the minarets were cut a little too severely, but reading that you rested the camera on something tells me you didn't have much control over your framing. Beautiful colours and light. The cobalt blue is magical and those architectural details are truly stunning.
Thanks for sharing

Hello Chris,
although the tips of the minarets did not fit in, I like very much the perspective and the very elegant way the Blue Mosque lies in the frame. The foreground shadows and the royal blue backdrop make e superb frame fot the lovely architecture and its mesmerising golden tones. Lighting is superb and I also love the rhythmical effect of the shadows all over the building. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,
Ourania
