Celebrity Equinox Cruise Ship (#1), a photo from Istanbul, Marmara

Photographer's Note

In October 2012, we took an 11-day Mediterranean cruise onboard the elegant ship of Celebrity Equinox. The cruise was a round trip from Civitavecchia, a port city outside Rome. We arrived in Rome two days earlier. Visited Umbrian hill town Orvieto first, then reached Civitavecchia to embark the ship. The cruise journey visited three countries: three ports of call in Greece (Santorini, Athens, and Mykonos); two ports of call in Turkey (Istanbul and Kusadasi); one port of call in Italy (Naples). For post-cruise, we stayed in Rome for extra two days.

The entire trip mixed with natural sceneries, vibrant cities, and ancient ruins which the travel experiences I preferred. I am by no means a photographer, but I can tell, it is more favorable for photography in this time of the year. Compare to summer’s bright sun, the light is softer. Even better, the colorful clouds are appeared in the skies more often.

This picture was taken while Equinox docked in Istanbul in an early morning.

Hello Tiffany,

your POV shows the symmetry of this ship very well. Also the time this photo was taken is good: Everything is enlightened, so the ship sparkles in Yellow and Blue. Yellow and blue are also the colors of the sky in the background. So everything fits together perfectly. The frame makes it look like a postcard.

Wow! What a colorful scene.That seems to be on a a ship.Reminds me of the movie Titanic and the luxury cruiser.Great cruise and great experience you had I reckon.Nice image, sharp with good details, well saturated colors and nice composition. Well done.

Howdy Tiffany,

We are thankful you are not on a Carnival cruise. Your sunset view of the pool area looks like my kind of place to relax, especially when not crowded, and the Equinox is obviously more elaborate than the Celebrity ship cruise I ventured on a few years ago to Alaska.

Awesome capture of the blue hour especially onboard this cruise ship. I envy you, I wish I don't get seasick, I would love to take a cruise from Vancouver to Alaska. Great lighting and nice details in spite of wide open lens. Wonderful colors. Well done, tfs.
