Photographer's Note
Originally a Byzantine Church, then a mosque with 4 minarets, Aya Sofia is now a museum and is located in the Sultanahmet District of Istanbul. Taken in blue hour from the 7 hills restaurant rooftop.

Hi Chris,
Using an ISO of 1600 and a shutter speed of 1/8 of a seconds is qallowing me to see the details and colors of the Aya Sofia museum. It has also a special effect on the colors. Nikon is giving good result when you use an ISO of 1600, have a nice day.

Hello Chris,
That restaurant not only serves delicious dishes but also breathtaking views.
The Aya Sofia isn't often shown from this side.
Beautifully presented as a whole and from a higher POV. Splendid in contrast with the dark blue sky.
Best regards, Paul

Changement de pays avec un nouveau contrat apparemment! Voilà qui nous promet de belles images de Turquie comme celle que tu nous offres aujourd'hui. Sans trépied, l'image manque un peu de netteté mais les couleurs sont très belles.

Hello Chris,
I see you have been travelling again. This is a fine spot to have seen. It has become 'relatively' familiar, having featured in a couple of films that I have seen recently. However, the films did not show it at night, with these golden illuminating lights.
A great night shot, using a high ISO, without noise.
I like how you have included the figures in the f/g, it really does help to gauge the scale.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hi Chris
i don't know why, but for some reason when i look at this scene of the Mosque i see a large Spider!
is that weird or is it just me?
anyways, the other aspect that caught my attention is the sweet combination of yellows and blues in the skyline.
its a beauty!
cheers

Hello Chris,
How wonderful to see you back at Trekearth with this lovely photo of the Aya Sofya. The evening shot features an unusual vantage point, and I've had a hard time getting my bearing. I've added it to the group theme, Domes, Spires and Minarets.
Warm regards,

Hello Chris,
this is an exquisite picture with fascinating lighting, colours and atmosphere. You've made the most of your point of view and gave a delightful and elegant dynamism to your composition, enhanced by an effective tight framing. I love the play of light, shadows as well as of warm and cold, bright and subdued tones all over the frame. The luminous deep blue backdrop is superb. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely day,
Ourania
