Photographer's Note
Found this peaceful moment in the midst of the chaotic tourist scene in Istanbul. The Sultan Ahmed Mosque is an historical mosque in Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey and the capital of the Ottoman Empire (from 1453 to 1923). The mosque is popularly known as the Blue Mosque for the blue tiles adorning the walls of its interior.
It was built from 1609 to 1616, during the rule of Ahmed I.

Hi Ryan
first of all, welcome on this site.
A very good B&W with good light management to see the carving in the interior in the shadow, well enhanced by the 2 men's silhouettes.
Good post production to get the walls vertical.
Cheers

Hello Ryan,
This is an original photo, even for us, Istanbulers. I like the vertical cadrage which gives almost the full height, and the tiny size of the people emphasizes the large size of the interior. B&W is quite useful to make the beholders concentrate on the fine details rather than the blue of the tiles. Good job.

Deniz

A nice counter-light picture. The choice of b&w makes it different, the inclusion of human figures gives a sense of dimension. a simpel yet powerful image.

Amazing composition
In this kind of places is really common to take a picture in colour because the art of the walls are so powerfull but in black and white you can see a whole different place
Even the two men helps to make the picture better
Congratulations

Hi Ryan,
B&W is a nice change and a good choice for this shot - it enables us to focus on the patterns that stands out in contrast to the light. A well executed shot.
