Another scan from my archive. That's a detail of my table at my workshop where I make "marbled papers" ! Before washing the glasses and brushes I made this capture. Also scanned from an Ektachrome diapositive.
If you do not know what a marbled paper is, than take a look to WS.
How to make it :
Colors (mainly mineral colors) are been mixed with water and few drops of ox gall. Then splashed with brushes on the surface of a water tank. The water here is again thickened with gum tragacanth. You can than move the color drops on the water surface and creates nonfigurativ designs.
What you need is than to put a sheet of paper on the water surface and peel it off ! You'll see, that the design is than transferred to the paper.
It's a dirty but interesting job ! I can recommend it.
Ebru yapımı : Arşivimden bir başka dia'nın taranmış hali.
Türklere has ilginç bir sanat : Ebru yapımı.

What a very interesting and informative note you have written - I often wondered how marbled paper was made and how wonderful that you also make your own! I just hope that you do this somewhere in the house where your wife won't complain too much about the mess!
This is a beautifully colourful photograph and of amazing quality considering that it has been scanned from an Ektachrome colour transparency. Very well composed too with good lighting and excellent sharpness.
And a fine workshop picture of the final result!

I like the look of an artist's studio, the paint-pots and brushes plus the smells speak of industry, creativity and imagination. This shot encapsulates so much of that atmosphere. Paper marbling is something I remember doing from my student days, your example is super, it looks like the markings on the feathers of an exotic bird!
A wonder memory and fine shot Mesut!
Warmest regards Rosemary

Hello dear Mesut,
a fine still life from your artist's workshop. I like very much the tight frame and the attractive repetition of objects and patterns. There's wonderful depth and sharpness, the many diagonals and the splashes of colour everywhere make this still composition very dynamic and vibrant. The procedure described in your note and the effect of your photo are very enjoyable. I learned about this art from Murat, who said that my reflection pictures reminded him of it. Your work in the workshop is rewarding and beautiful. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,

Even some dirty jobs have to be done. It sounds fun and it gave you the idea of a quite original composition. Nobody could complain of a lack of colours and diagonal lines this time. The WS is very beautiful too, and very interesting.

ottima scansione, la qualità è rimasta pressapoco inalterata.
Un bel particolare, molto colorato e originale, la tua attenzione si è posata su questa scena e la ripresa è stata eccellente.
