Also in this "tulip"py scenery, "the competition of tulips with the Judas Tree" !

Like every year (since last 7 years) , from 1st of April onwards untill end of the month İstanbul has gotten an amazing colorfull dress.
12 million tulips of 112 different shapes and colors are been planted on parks, streets etc etc.
It's like in the XVIth century, where the famous "tulipamania" was the main theme of İstanbul.
During those days, rare tulp bulbs was been dealed to tremendous prices.
And in 1962, this famous trip of tulips towards Holland was been symbolised in İstanbul.
Two trucks, carrying two coaches arrived in İstanbul and after a symbolic ceremony in the court of the famous Topkapı Palace, Dutch ambassadors had taken the tulip bulbs and brought to Holland after a long trip through Europe.
On WS you can see a b&w capture of those trucks I made than.

Bu kare de laleli bir kare ama burada da (bir önceki karede olduğu gibi) lalelere büyük bir rakip var : Erguvan ağacı !

Her yıl olduğu gibi (son yedi seneden beri), bu sene de İstanbul 1 Nisandan itibaren lalelendi.
112 çeşitten onikimilyon lale soğanı, park ve bahçeleri, yolların refüjlerini rengarenk bir halı ile kapladı.
Herşey tıpkı onaltıncı yüzyılda yaşanan “lalemania” havasında.
O günlerde bir lale soğanına bir servet ödeyenler varmış.
Pek fazla bilinmez ama 1962 yılında, ilk lale soğanı’nın Hollandaya gönderilişinin 400.yıl’ı kutlanmıştı İstanbulda.
İki TIR içine yerleştirilen iki saray arabası, İstanbul’a gelmiş, içindeki dönemin kıyafetlerini giymiş Hollandalı elçiler, Topkapı Sarayı’nın orta avlusunda yapılan merasimle, lale soğanlarını teslim alıp, Hollandaya doğru yola çımışlardı.
Biz bu konuyu doğru dürüst anlatamadığımız için, bütün dünya, hala lalenin ana vatanının Hollanda olduğunu zanneder.
WS de o zaman çektiğim siyah beyaz bir kare var.

Tomorrow, I shall place a tulips picture, I am a very great fan of these lovely flowers.
Here get we a lovely combination between the blossom of the tree and the tulips in foreground.
Excellent depth and nice perspective.

Vivid and wonderful color's arreyin this garden.
Amazing number you specifically noted, 112 diff. tulips in this park. Remarkable.

Thank you ever so much for this interesting post and the note that goes with it !
Great colourful composition starting with the red primroses, then the tulips and finally the beautiful Judas tree, spreading its branches towards Heaven (Or should it be Hell, because of its name :-) Only joking ! Actually, the French refer to it as "Arbre de Judée", which is the region, not the man.
I like your note about the history of tulips, and how they came to Holland.
I had seen this post, and that post, which taught me that tulips originate from Western Asia. They look as nice in the wild as in parks.

hi mesut,
what amazing colours in the flowers. the tulips are fantastic, while the blossom on the tree spreads wonderfully well into the rest of the frame. the light illuminating the flowers adds to the appealing nature of the scene.

Hier zeigst Du uns Blüten sogar auf mehreren Etagen. Das Ganze ist ein wirklicher Augenschmaus - und das ist es, worauf wir den ganzen Winter gewartet haben. Ein Gefühl, das die Menschen in den Tropen nie erleben werden ...
Ich meine aber, dass das Bild etwas mehr Schärfe vertragen könnte.
Grüße aus dem sehr wechselhaften Wetter in Deutschland. Der April zieht alle Register.

Another fantasy of colors well presented with vivid colors and clarity. Trees and ground seem to fight for who will be the most colorful. Very nice presentation.

Hello Mesut,

Your "tulip pictures" are wonderful but I think this might be the best one so far!

The composition is excellent with a lovely "carpet" of red tulips in the lower foreground and with the tall ivy-clad tree towering above with its beautiful mauve blossom.

Gorgeous colours, perfect exposure and stunning detail and sharpness.

yeah, its certainly Tulip time in your gallery :)
the violet purples are great in this shot, i think they make the overall scene 10x better!
usually we just see the tulips along the bottom.

This series about tulips is being wonderful, but this particular image, it gives me a special feeling, with tulips in the bottom of the image and those branches, which themselves already give a pretty graphic, but interspersed with these delicate purple flowers, create a unique image and love it. Well done.
