Today was the first day it did not rain. We went to Emirgan Park to stroll around and to my surprise, some of the tulips had bloomed. These and the yellow ones were in bloom.
According to Wikipedia, The land on which the Park is located became known as "Feridun Bey Park", when the uninhabited land was granted in the mid-16th century to Nişancı Feridun Bey, a Lord Chancellor in rank in the Ottoman Empire. In the 17th century, Ottoman sultan Murad IV (r 1623-1640) presented the estate to Emir Gūne Han, a Safavid Persian commander, who surrendered his sieged castle without any resistance, and followed him back to Istanbul. The name "Feridun Bey Park" was changed to "Emirgūne", which in time became corrupted to "Emirgan". During the centuries, the estate's owner changed several times, and by the end of the 1860s, it was owned by Khedive Ismail Pasha (reigned 1863-1879), Ottoman governor of Egypt and Sudan. The area was used as the backyard of a large wooden yalı (seafront mansion) that he built on the shore of the Bosphorus. Further, he built within the park area three wooden pavilions, which still exist.
Today, the park is owned and administered by the Metropolitan Municipality of Istanbul and covers an area of 117 acres (470,000 m2). Emirgan Park is closely associated with the tulip, the traditional flower, which gave its name to an era (1718-1730) of the Ottoman Empire. A special garden was established in Emirgan Park in the 1960s to revive the city's tradition of tulip cultivation. Since 2005, an annual international tulip festival is organized here every April making the park attractive and very colorful with these flowers.

Fabulous pink on green plants-bed, Murat.
I know by now Istanbul has many tulips gardens, still a bit early for their full blossom.
Fine DOF and clarity collected, seem as a place well kept for the special flowers.

Looks like Spring is in the air. A bit soon to profess, but still...this has a very pleasing visual and association to the upcoming change in season. The anticipation of these tulips opening up to receive the sunshine and fresh air is palpable. :) Glad you finally had a reprieve from the rains, making it enjoyable to be out and about in order to see and photograph this colorful stretch of nature. Enjoy the weekend ahead. Take good care.

The distance between the tulips and the house is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details, the colours of the tulips and of the house. The hazy sky does not hurt the output of the colours. Have a nice day.

Good ideas with this image, possibly spring has arrived earlier than expected showing us the current situation and your experience. The sign of life with those stunning blooms is wonderful to view indeed and a massive lift to the image. I like the composition here with tree branches add the extra beauty to the whole capture. A lovely capture of this beautiful rural scene and it stands right out, Congrats

a very lovely picture to celebrate the first day with no rain and the clear signs that spring is on her way. I like very much the perspective and the way the park is divided in two. The bed of tulips is very attractive, the flowers look so fresh and delicate. I like the solid framing by the trunks, branches and the house in the background. I wonder if the composition would be a bit stronger with a tighter cropping at the top. The colours are moody and sweet, the atmosphere is very peaceful. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely weekend,
PS The wind is losing strength, we had beautiful sunshine today:)

You're capturing well this park by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interestig and impressive to see the a lot of bloomed tulips in the gaeden of park and elegant building of backdrop. Surely, spring season is coming when seeing this flower, although tree still looks like in winter.
