Photographer's Note

Rushour at one of the busiest part of İstanbul, the Eminönü square.
From here the ferries start their trips to the Asian part of İstanbul and vise versa.
At left upper part the Galata tower and the so called Genuese part of İstanbul can be seen.

İstanbul'un en kalabalık ve canlı köşelerinden biri Eminönü meydanının bir görüntüsü.
Buradan şehrin Anadolu yakasına kalkan vapurların yanısıra, taksiler, minbüsler ve de tramvaylar devamlı olarak İstanbulluları bir yerden bir yere taşıyıp dururlar.
Sol üst köşedede Galata Kulesi ile şehrin kuruluşunda buraya gelip yerleşmiş Cenevizlilerin yerleşim bölgesi Galata.

A beautiful image with great dynamism, by the presence of all those people in the harbor, splendid image with the city in the background, highlighting the Galata Tower.
Yellow taxis give a splendid splash of color, very good light and sharpness.

I like this scene, that evokes me a few great memories, in which you have caught skillfully the vital and dynamic atmosphere of Eminonu, where the people and the yellow taxis provide a nice graphical effect. The sight of the Galata Tower and Bridge in background is a fantastic complement for the photo.

Hello Mesut,
A very nice documentary image of Istanbul showing us not only a part of Beyoğlu with the famous Galata Tower and the bridge that spans the Golden Horn but also the very busy traffic along the quay in Eminönü. An image that reflects a part of the well-known Istanbul and also an aspect of the daily life in a large metropolis.
Clear, bright and with excellent sharpness.

Very nice shot over the Bosporus, Mesut, showing the busy nature of the ferries here and the dual nature of Istanbul itself. Though I normally dislike the selective color pictures, it might be interesting to see a monochrome version with yellow at full saturation here, highlighting all of these taxis, which form a bright line through the left of the shot. The look at the Asian side of the city rising up on the hill across the water is a wonderful element here too. Thanks!

Hello Mesut,

You're capturing well this cityscape by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the sequence of parking yellow, wide street taxi and many walking residents and in a ferry wharf. The view of the town from here is very good. As for it, both of two slightly elevated hills in Istanbul are visible across a strait. And, a big ferry at anchor draws out a good effect in this image.

Hello Mesut,
This is not far from one of my favourite photo spots in Istanbul, which I have shown here three times. I have walked this foot-bridge many times but I don't recall seeing this spectacular line of yellow cabs creating such a fine diagonal across the street. I love the busy atmosphere of this place, always offering photo opportunities, and I will never get tired of the view across to he Galata tower.

I remember standing on this very crossover on the same spot taking night shots:) Maybe I'll post one some time later. Great compostion with the diagonal of yellow taxis. Lively atmosphere, Istanbul is a bustling city.

a wonderful and comprehensive description of the port and its atmosphere. The way the taxis take us into the frame and guide us along the pier is very effective and the clear views of the city in the background frame the port with a fascinating background, with great context and details. lovely daily life scene, well captured. I like the POV, slightly elevated which allows a great view over the street. Yellow cabs make a nice diagonal line. Famous tower adds a nice recognizable element to the composition.
