Photographer's Note

This is the lake Durusu in Thrace. About 75 km's west of İstanbul. This lake (also called Terkos lake) was and is an important water reservoir for İstanbul. Even from 9th century onwards during Byzantine period, water was been transferred via aquaducts to İstanbul.
Nowadays it's shores are an attractive place for canoing or similar lake sports.

Trakya da Durusu Gölü sahilinden bir görüntü. Durusu İstanbul’un 75 km bastısında. Terkos Gölü de denilen bu göl tarih boyunca İstanbul için çok önemli bir su kaynağı olmuş. 9.Yüzyıldan itibaren, Bizsans’lılar buradaki suyu, su kemerleri üzerinden vadileri atlaya atlaya taa İstanbula kadar taşımışlar.
Günümüzde spor balıkçılığı ve kano’culuk ta yaygın olarak Durusuda yapılıyor.

Bu kareyi 35 mm bir diapozitiften taradım.

Hello Mesut,
Beautifully composed shot with a great perspective, but what stands out most for me, is the red and white canoe that adds a bright touch of colour to this peaceful natural landscape. For tilt maniacs, there's a little bit of a tilt of the horizon that should be easy enough to fix by rotating a few degrees.

This is a very nice image with a simple element in the nature. I ilke the way your image is framed and the distance on the water gives deepness. The light gives good colors and the sharpness is very good.

The red canoe is very eye-catching and it is well positioned in the picture. A simple, but still a very well composed picture. Maybe I should have adjusted the slight tilt.

Hello Mesut,

An picture with nice layers in it and this
creates a nice depth, the vertical position
and the boat on the forgrpound emphasize
that extra. Composition and light
management are also very good.

Little note: the horizon is skewed.

The distance between the canoe and the horizon is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the canoe and of the beach. It is clear and precise. Have a nice day.
