There are a few ladies that sit around the Beyazit Square selling seeds to feed the birds.
The square is officially named Hürriyet Meydani meaning Freedom Square but is known as Beyazit Square after the Beyazit II Mosque, which can be seen behind the lady. Just in front of her (not visible here) are the beautiful old gates of the University of Istanbul. Also in the area is the Grand Bazaar.

Nice portrait of the bird lady on a square in Istanbul. The BG is very well composed with the minaret and those trees. Her earnings could be quiet meagre from this but she still has a satisfied look on her face. I like the inclusion of this motion blurred birdie friend who has decided to fly in the frame just about the right time (or wrong?). I like this more because I am fond of pigeons and feed them wheat and barley daily. Thanks for sharing a good photo.
P.S I just had a look at your India gallery, most of the photos are superb captures. Congrats!

Hi Wanda. Such great timing catching one of her business's beneficiaries. I wonder if the umbrellas are for the purpose that I think the may fulfill. I see another lady in the distance in the same situation. Interesting expression. Regards. Klaudio.

Je suppose qu'elle vend les assiettes de graines aux touristes!Bonne photo de cette vendeuse, l'intrusion d'un de ses "clients" dans l'image complétant judicieusement la composition.
