Constructed under the orders of Sultan Mahmut,this was built in the memory of this mother,Saliha Sultan in 1732.Its type is the Meydan(freestanding)fountain with sebil.Freestanding fountains located in squares and parade fields,this type of fountain is a freestanding building in the form of miniature pavilion.They were an innovation of the eighteenth century and among the earliest examples of western influence on Ottoman architecture.In general they had four sides some of these had taps in a single or two faces such as Saliha Sultan fountain behind of Sokullu Mehmet Paşa Mosque ,in Azapkapı.

Saliha Sultan Cesmesi ve Sebili
Piyale Paşa camii dönüşü yine bir Mimar Sinan eseri olan Sokullu Mehmet Paşa camii ve arkasında bütün görkemi ve güzelliği ile bu çeşme dikkatimizi çekti.Camiyi gezmeyi bir başka sefere bıraktık ancak çeşmenin ihtişamı, görüntülemeden geçip gitmemize izin vermedi.Çevresinin korunağı ve kenarına park etmiş arabaların varlığı nedeniyle tamamını çekemedim.
