Well this is the 4th Brighton Beach I have been to. The others are Port Phillip Bay, Melbourne; Moreton Bay Brisbane, and the original Brighton Beach in England.
This one is near Canakkale, in north western Turkey. Anzac Cove is over the headland. (Australia & New Zealand Army Corps). Some of the fiercest fighting of WWI took place along this coastline and there is still a concrete bunker visible in the bg.

Kia ora Chris,
An interesting photo & a little different from the original Brighton Beach. I am leading a tour group from New Zealand to Gallipoli next year for the 100th commemorations of the campaign. I have been here a number of times but not to Brighton Beach, so maybe we will visit. Cheers, Neil

Nice capture from a beach in Çanakkale. Interesting to see the small beton casemate as one of the last silent evidences of that big war.
TFS and have a nice weekend

At first sight I too thought this was a pillbox from WW II. Plenty 0d sun and fun for those out and enjoying the scenery.
Have A Great Weekend...

The distance between the beach and the hill is giving depth to the composition. The presence of the people is adding life to the scene. The point of view is showing the activities at the beach. The good luminosity is making the colors to stand out. Have a nice day.

So the name comes from WWI times? Cosy looking little beach. I like those sunshades. Shallow water seems to be quite suitable for families. Good framing and I like how you included those photographers in the view.

I assume it got its name from its association with WWI? Certainly a bit different from Brighton Beach in Sussex. The wicker parasols are a new one on me as well.

well if my Brighton Beach had sand like this and was as deserted I think I would be spending a bit more time on it! It looks wonderful. Thanks for sharing this it made me smile too!
Enjoy your Sunday - B.

There are many details included in this picture, people taking pictures and resting on the beach. Interesting concrete bunker too and a very beautiful background landscape.

Belle prise de vue de cette plage avec ses parasols et son bunker. La couleur de l'eau est magnifique. Un bel endroit pour se reposer. Bien fait.

this is a lovely coast but very charged with history and sorrowful events too. Lisa's pictures and notes about this coast have had a strong and lasting impact on me. I like very much your composition and the ample space you've given to the bright and interesting foreground before our glance rests on the green landscape ahead. Superb details and interesting human presence. You managed the strong midday light and colours in an exemplary way. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,

I think there's a Brighton beach in California also. Looks like there are more umbrella than people on this beach, can't be the weather since those people are wearing shorts. Good lighting with sharp details. Well done, tfs.

this is unusual beach and original picture too. Most of the pictures of the beaches try to show their beauty while this one is perfect document of the past with the bunker in the background. The fallen umbrellas indicate the previous glory and busyness but now despite some people taking photos this place seems to be a little bit abandoned. Shame because the sea looks gorgeous with its lovely turquoise colors.
Thanks for sharing

yes, I thought thats what that was in the bg.
odd place for it now, guess the city doesn't want to pay to have it removed.
the sun shades remind me of something we'd see in Asia, and the water color reminds me of the bahamas :)
interesting scene, maybe its very common in Turkey, but not so common to see a Turkish scene like this one on TE.

Chris, that beach has an english toponym but it's actually situated in Marmara area, high quality of image and bright hues, some umbrellas on the beach, dry area I see, the pine forest is visible in the bg, two visitors are snapping, regards
