Merhaba Bülent Bey,
Sahane bir kare -- kompozisyon, renkler çok güzel. Flassiz daha net çekmek zor olur, fakat acaba ISO 1600 olsaydi, daha net olabilirmiydi. Yukardaki malumat da ISO'dan bahis yok. Acaba otomatik olarak 200 de miyd?
Saygi ve selamlar,
berek (50506) 2007-01-24 2:14
çok iyi hareket ve kadraj yakalamışsın. elelrine sağlık. selamlar.
snunney (103285) 2007-01-24 5:56
A good composition of these swirling dancers, who contrast so well with the men stood at the edge of the room. Great feeling of movement, well done.
atilgone (0) 2007-01-24 6:08
Semah'ı anlatan başarılı bir kompozisyon. Bu yer Bursa'da tam olarak nerede? Her akşam yapılıyor olmasıda iyi olmuş. Istanbul Galata Mevlivihanesinde sadece ayda 3 defa pazar günleri yapılıyor sadece. Eline sağlık. Paylaşımının ve bilgi için teşekkürler.
cimcim (3712) 2007-01-24 6:11
Başarılı bir Semah görüntüsü. Kompozisyon, konu, renkler, gölgeler, netlik, hareket çok güzel. Eline sağlık

Angshu (56760) 2007-01-25 4:00
Good compo. of this performance..it's a type of trance motion if I am not mistaken. I like the soft colour tones and the blur, as the performers twirl. This is unique to your country & thanks for sharing it with us
ChrisJ (116676) 2007-01-26 6:09
A cultural icon of Turkey. I like the graphism of the white cloth against the dark bg. Excellent motion blur & colour. Tfs!
Marcelo_Almeida (1044) 2007-01-26 7:22

salvator (19110) 2007-01-28 3:42
Siz de benim gibi bildik bir yeri cekmissiniz, ama cok da guzel cekmissiniz. Bakis acisi da kompozisyon da renkler de super super super.
Kutlarim sizi. Elinize saglik. Iyi pazarlar, selamlar. Salvator.
zips (1958) 2007-01-28 5:52
Nice choice of shutter speed....enough to capture the standing people as motionless while giving the correct amount of blur to the dancers.
Nicely composed as well but you might think about cropping a bit off the top down to the top of the arch in the background to see how you like it.
setenay (7706) 2007-01-29 4:26
Öncelikle teşekkür ederim, Bursada mevlevi tekkesi olduğunu ilk sizden öğrendim.Çok güzel çekimle mekanın mimari özelliklerini ve semazenlerin gösterisini harika göstermişsiniz.Elinize sağlık.TE. hoş geldiniz ,diğer karelerinizde çok güzel.Notunuz için teşekkürler.

Hi, very nice photo of the performace! I like the moviments on the man's dance.
The clothes are diferent and pretty too.
wolf38 (31296) 2007-01-30 8:40
Hello bulent. The photo "semah performance" very interesting and dynamically, the text is instructively. A good photo for Trekearth. It shows customs and behavior of other culture nations. One became gladly more photos of the dance the-wipes sees. Best regards, Wolfgang.
delkoo (68) 2007-01-30 9:24
very nice shot, i like the move of the dancers turning and turning .
very well done
vincent24 (9060) 2007-01-31 14:46
Good timing on the round movement of the photogenic dancers!the reasonable high sensibility(800 iso) seems to be a good choice to have enough speed and no noise...the little regret is the frame cutting the left dancer's dress and the empty space at the right side...a little turn on the left and it should be perfect,
vonp (2235) 2007-01-31 16:12
I saw this amazing "moment" in Istanbul... amazing as your shot is.
Great composition and color with the artificial light.
Well done Bulent.
See you soon...
ManuMay (36285) 2007-02-01 6:50
I always loved sufi, and this is a great picture for me.
Love colours and movement.
kevinos (7517) 2007-02-02 11:54
It is easy to see why this one is so popular, Bulent. It is a very vibrant scene and an important record of a way of life. I think this is the branch of Islam that we call 'Dervish' in the West. You have given us a glimpse into a unique and facinating culture. Regards Kevin
Wanda1 (15142) 2007-02-03 23:52
I love the movement you have captured here, a very nice shot.
alainh (33201) 2007-02-05 2:32
a very nice shot, full of movement and colours. the 1/50 was the good exposure. very pleasant work.
have a nice day Bulent
inuit66 (663) 2007-02-05 16:43
Hi Bulent. A fine shot showing traditional daily life and ceremony in another country. Tells a good story, and the technique is good - slow shutter keeps action and movement fitting the situation and all the skirts caught in the right moment. Light is very good. Nice work indeed. Greetings from Denmar, Jens :-)
doubay (674) 2007-02-06 4:15
very nice and interesting shot.
I listen a lot to all forms of oriental music including ottoman and religous islamic music.
Although I have not (yet) deepen into dervish rituals and their music I regard it as something very interesting.
And one question: Are these dervish performaces a authentical, living tradition with an uniterrupted continuity or were they reanimated in recent years?
Dpbours (222) 2007-02-07 7:41
I appreciate the difference in the light reflecting on the clothes. Might in only be partly due to different light, and partly to a difference in movement of the material? Very nice capture!
Keep on posting!
sadeik (3282) 2007-02-10 10:26
Good cultural scene, and the slower shutter speed has enhanced the dancers making them come alive with motion.
atus (15856) 2007-02-12 16:20
greatly captured shot here of a great perspective. Very good light control, good sharpness and great performance of the Semah dancers captured. Very nice one! Tfs and best wishes.
Photo65Net (43120) 2007-02-13 13:20
I like how you managed to get such dynamuics in this picture.
Antishake works !
Great POV too, emphasizing these dancers.
dumanica (5071) 2007-02-17 7:03
Dumanica :)
Didi (60590) 2007-02-18 6:28
We call them in Egypt Daraweeche.
Nice scene in spite of the difficult light's condition.
nevilzaveri (217) 2007-02-18 9:55
very beautiful flow of time captured perfectly. upper part is little distracting, otherwise, very beautiful composition and soft light.
everlasting (15238) 2007-02-18 15:01
You have composed this performance well. The blurs and twirls give plenty of action, the delicate soft colour tones are good.
branley (3681) 2007-02-19 5:40
a good capture of these traditional dancers, their white dress contrasts very well with the darker surroundings. You've made the best of the light and captured good movement, a faster shutter speed would have made them sharper but they would have looked a little static so all in all it's a fine shot, well done.
nirvana73 (0) 2007-02-23 7:08

powoj (1661) 2007-02-25 16:44
Very nice picture and very interesting theme. Good light and colours. I hope to see Your beautiful country in near future.
maloutim (9639) 2007-02-26 15:47
Well, you might never stop getting new points for this wonderful photo! The colours, the movements, the composition are just perfect!
There is just enough blur to show the rapid movement and the posture of the men and robes are fascinating!
I once saw a demonstration of this dancing in our local theatre in Brest, France, and was enthralled by it.
Thank you so much for sharing such a beautiful picture!
pady (4800) 2007-02-27 14:55
Nice capture of this tradition. A lot of movement is given is this image.
Graal (103036) 2007-02-28 2:22

Hi Bulent, excellent image. the Dervish were captured with a great dynamism and the exposure was perfect.

Benedict (7076) 2007-03-03 16:44

pranab (5354) 2007-03-05 3:55
excellent capture of this festive moment. nice use of light. good pov.
marjan (6279) 2007-03-05 15:33
Merhaba Bülent,, good shot with excelentPOV and motive. Wonderful theme and moment. I see the sposition of the hand make different between them and dervish who played in same way.
rafid76 (0) 2007-03-08 5:30
PERFECTO! but but but it would have been amazing if you only allowed the shutter a longer exposure with 2nd curtain flash. it would have captured true motion of the dervishes. well done!
ryno (6865) 2007-03-08 12:24
Merhaba Bulent, this is an great shot of the mevlana, with excellent detail in their tekke (it reminds me of the one in Beyoğlu). I like the gentle gleam of light on polished wood, the beautiful carpet & interior structure of the building. But mostly, congratulations on your fine composition and the clarity with which you captured the movement here. Ellenize sağlık! Ryno
zeca (19762) 2007-03-11 9:29
One of the first pictures I´ve write for one year ago when I subscribe to TE was a Sehma performance, like this presented here. I think it is a very nice post idea, and you did a nice capture, with the right motion.
norman_isaure (4) 2007-03-11 14:36
Bravo pour cette photo !
Bonne maitrise de la lumière et de la profondeur de champ.
sophiav (29) 2007-03-14 1:19
Magnificent shot. I especially like the folds of their garment while they twirl..
I have taken a theology course some time ago and the dervish whirling remained in my memory as something so arcane and symbolic only someone like the people you have captured can fully understand.
Thanks for sharing Bulent,
NicoleP (520) 2007-03-16 4:38
coco (30439) 2007-03-19 13:05
Good composition and exposure. You catch very well the essence of this dance.
P-S-I-G (25536) 2007-04-06 3:57
Only one word : bravo.
An excellent shot. Good moment taken and interesting note. I like the photo very much.
