Photographers Note
(About the lucky, first born Zelal that you see here, there are 4 other photos and if you click on the next photo, you'll be guided to all of them and finally come back on this image)
*******************************************************
This is the way children are put to sleep in that part of the world : not that time of the day, now just to play for a while, or to calm down Zelal, in this same room where they had breakfast, another day : her grandmother places a quilt on her feet and invites the little girl on this swinging cushion, and while swinging gently her feet for a long time constantly, she'll whisper to her tender words, or sing a lullaby, or tell her a little story : I've seen this in many homes, this is how many lucky babies or children (if there are not too many children at home) are rocked to sleep, with another blanket covering them at night.
More about the grandmother Cilek and how she bakes her "naan" (bread) in the traditional oven another day.
Here we see at the back the adjacent room, a rather formal sitting room with sofas on the sides and where dinner is sometimes served (always on the floor). FYI, I've added 2 outside views of the house in the workshop. Despite the rather surprising aspect of the house from the outside, this is not a poor family, as I have explained in the previous post.
*******************************************************
(NB : ... in all those habitations, the beautiful, traditional carpets have been sold long ago and instead, large carpets weaved mechanically have appeared : standard sizes and designs, they are of course comfortable for the naked feet and are more easy to clean, but I always try to imagine how it looked like when the carpets woven by generations of women from the same family were adorning those houses...)

It is a beautiful scene. Very simple, but with all the correct ingredients. Including the cat. Very nice.

Hello Catherine. A wonderful motive of full human warmth and emotion. In addition, the room with the area in the background is worth seeing. I would not have expected the wall carpet with deer however. For me this fantastic photo is a master achievement. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Hi Catherine,
I like the way you were able to capture the delight on the grandmother's face admiring her granddaughter ... a special bonding moment well captured and composed. Excellent work! tfs

Hi Cath.
Beautifull and lovely is this scene.
The smiles of the woman and the kids looks are well caught. The light spot in the b/ground adds the spice, making the feel of divine and love..
Kudos, dear Cath..

Hi Cath
An intimate 'portrait'...a peep into the daily life of this family. The small details are lively, like the carpet hanging on the far wall & the cat moving away.
Regards

Catherine,
I like this shot so much....
The shot has multiple layers there...
the FG with the Grand mother & her ward....So very much close to every ones heart... The BG with the fleeting cat & the hall, tells more abou the family & their life.. A truly enjoyable shot.
Thanks,
Prem.
