Plains of Dogubeyazit Photo

Photographer’s Note

Dogubeyazit is a town of Agri province located in the eastern part of Turkey near the Iranian border. The town stands on a plain surrounded by some of Turkey's highest peaks. There are high meadows for grazing on the sides of these peaks while the plains are used for grazing and for growing grains and grasses, mainly as winter foodstuff for livestock. Life on the mountainside is hard, with people made their living mainly by cattle breeding. The photgraphy is taken near the Somkaya village which is located between Dogubeyazit and Caldiran.

Merhaba Uygar,
Harika bir fotoğraf, ayrıca renklerin canlılığını da bir o kadar sevdim. Notu anlayamadım ama bundan sonraki fotoğraflarda bir de Türkçe not eklersen, eminim benim de gördüğüm yer hakkında biraz bilgim olacaktır ;)

Meraba Uygar, bu fotoğrafını gözden kaçırmışım. Havanın azizliğine uğradığını düşünüyorum, önde bir su birikintisi ve arkada da bir köy var yanılmıyorsam. Daha fazla ışıklı bir ortamda kontrastların belirginleşip resmin albenisinin daha çok ortaya çıkacağını sanıyorum.

I like very much your photos of east Turkey, I was exactly at the same place last August but the weather was very different, still there was the same grandeur, immensity in those landscapes and your photo gives me the nostalgy of those places... ah, the road between çaldiran and dogubeyazit !
Hope to see more photos of yours from that area, as they are so inspiring - only one regret, that we cannot see a larger version of this !
