Photographer’s Note
According to Jeppo's dictionary "cattled tourists" are those tourists forced to travel all together in air conditioned superluxuous busses....taken from a place to the other....having few time for their own to enjoy monuments or sights...since they have to run to the next shop or restaurant as for the scheduled by their tour operator
cattled tourists have therefore no time to interact with locals, few opportunities to try local food or get in touch with the very essence of the country they are visiting
A great example of "damages" caused by "cattled tourism" can be seen in Cappadocia.
It's a pity to reach this wonderful region...and just get out from the bus, take a couple of shots from a viewpoint and then move to the carpet shop....
A great different vay to enjoy Cappadocia is to have a trek across the 3 valleys: the red, the white and the yellow one!
you can just go up and down among these particular rock formation, discover the wineyards or see the cave churches without experiencing masses of tourists....and also enjoy a "emla cay" (Apple tea) under a fruit tree....
My other pictures from this wonderful region are available here

Ciao Silvio,
Ben fatto!

Hi Silvio
That must be Göreme, I still remember my visits there in the 1980s. I went in winter, and luckily almost no tourists, possibly it was too cold for the tour buses. Your picture is great and you really had to walk for it, I know, DOF, sharpness and colors are simply great. Well done
Best regards

Ciao Silvio,

Ciao.
Bobo.

Hi Silvio, How are you? I also do not like to be a part of the cattle, I prefer to plan trip by myself. But even then it is often too little time for trekking. To stay longer in one place or to go farther and tarther. as in every place I will never come again I choose the second option.. Nice Capadoccian landscape.
Pozdrawiam

Hi Jeppo,
Even though the harsh sun is radiating, your image captures the beautiful erosion and creamy colors.
And I agree about Jeppo's dictionary term,"cattle tourists". I have only been on one tour bus for one day in Hawaii and have never done one again.
Our NPS did a study on tourists to the Grand Canyon Park and discovered a large majority jumped out of their cars or buses took the obligatory quickie snapshot of their buddie standing at the rim and then left. Spending less than one hour at the Canyon's rim.

impressive landscape indeed, and well shot with a high horizon.
i am just a little weary of how one can handle the strong light here.
important note here, and very true!
