Photographer’s Note
The natural rock citadel of Uçhisar is the tallest point in Cappadocia, visible from a great distance away. This high vantage point is the main reason tourists make a visit to this small provincial town.
To climb the tall rocky outcrop - which actually once served as a fully functional citadel - you must ascend tunnels carved into the solid rock.
In fact it's not only the citadel that was carved from the rock, for well over a thousand years people have used the soft terrain to use as houses, many of which are still fully functional today.

Hi Julian,
Now that is a place that I had never heard of. Very interesting and impressive location - I will have to research this more. Will you post some more photos from here? I really like the way you shot this - great composition and nice colors!
