Güvercinlik (Pigeon) Valley - Pigeon Valley, on the edge of Göreme village is where you can see thousands of sandstone bird houses, carved from the cliffs. For centuries local farmers used the manure from the pigeons nesting here to fertilize their crops.
You can hike the Pigeon Valley between Göreme and Uçhisar. The 4km trail starts from the road on the south side of Göreme or on the paved road on the north side of the hill where Uçhisar Castle sits in Uçhisar.

These rock cut structures are quite amazing...it was also interesting to know that the tuff rock is soft on the inside which helped people create rooms inside.
We did not do the hike, but saw these structures...primarily remember because of the delapidated man made building in front of these 'chimneys'
Did you get grey skies with low light during your visit? I see all your Cappadocia shots to be under bleak sky & flat light
