Armenian Holy Trinity Church of Sivrihisar, Eskisehir Province
Sivrihisar is a charming and quiet small town on the highway from Eskisehir to Ankara. It is a very old settlement and was an important town in Ottoman times. The famous Nasrettin Hoca was born here.
It is little known that from the 17th century until the deportations of the First World War it had also a sizeable Armenian population (pop. more than 3,000 on the eve of World War I), descendants of immigrants from the Caucasus.
The main Armenian Church at the far end of the town is well preserved and is clearly visible at "the sky line" of Sivrihisar.
