Photographer's Note

Ankara has been Turkey's capital since the 1920's only. It used to be a small village, but it grew with the influx of ministeries and government offices. Today it has about 4 million people.

Not too many tourists go here, but the city does have its charms. There is a hill with a castle overlooking the city. Next to the castle there is a traditional turkish village full of colour and children (as in the picture) but sadly in a bad state of repair. Hopefully in the future this area will get the care that it deserves, in the meantime it is stil a beautiful neighborhood.
