Ankara has been Turkey's capital since the 1920's only. It used to be a small village, but it grew with the influx of ministeries and government offices. Today it has about 4 million people.
Not too many tourists go here, but the city does have its charms. There is a hill with a castle overlooking the city. Next to the castle there is a traditional turkish village full of colour and children (as in the picture) but sadly in a bad state of repair. Hopefully in the future this area will get the care that it deserves, in the meantime it is stil a beautiful neighborhood.

interesting shot from the Ankara Castle. Narrow cobble streets and old traditional houses. Hope you enjoyed your staying in Ankara.
Greetings / Selçuk

I did not know that there was such a place in Ankara.
But I think that it is expressed the space that the person whom this photograph catches a back alley of Turkey realistically very much, and live in Turkey, a person with what I did can understand by all means. Actually, I could feel an atmosphere and a smell of this place, a voice of children realistically and missed you very when I tried to magnify this photograph.

I like this backstreet view where you see the old house build nearly the same way we call half timbered and opposit a restored house in the same style, which more and more set a trend in Turkey to protect and preserve the 'younger' history. Nice to see in the background a wall of the castle with it's different styles of building through the ages.
I like the colors, sharpness and richness of details!

good street scene with nice architecture. It looks oddly European for a city in the heart of Turkey's Asian side. I like the splashes of color in this grey scene. The children are nice, perhaps Id have waited for them to be abit closer to be more visible.

Hi, you're back from Turkey! Nice daily life street scene. This stone street is really charmful... is in bad state but here you can breath the real antique feeling.

that's a really cool shot daniel. I like your composition. Nicely framed with these interesting buildings. The white truck actually helps draw the eyes to the kids who might otherwise get lost in this scene. Nice job. Jp

Hi Daniel ! Thanks for sharing this photo, which is from my hometown. You are right by saying that some parts of this neighborhood are not in good condition. However, during the last few years a large-scale restoration campaign has been started and many of the houses are being restorated. If you visit here after a couple of years, you will find a different atmosphere. Best regards...

I think you captured the feeling and an image of the real country as it is the case with most of your other pictures. It's well composed and image quality as excellent. A wonderful Daily Life photo!
