Photographer's Note

Taken from the Ali Kale (castle) restaurant, which offers this superb view of the city. The Phyrgian Rock tombs (2,500 years old) are floodlit in purple. The distinctive Ottoman houses along the river are all illuminated in red. Colours change every 10 minutes or so. Amasya is north east of Ankara. One of the prettiest towns in Turkey.
