...
Ekmeğimiz hep bu undan yapılırdı. Kara ateş tabir edilen taşta, odunla pişirilen mısır ekmeği çok leziz olurdu. Üretilen mısırdı ve ekmek ondan yapılıyordu. O zamanlar (yaklaşık 20- 25 yıl öncesi) beyaz un(has un, buğday unu) sadece Ramazan ayında tüketilirdi. Şimdilerde ise ekmeğin çoğu buğday unundan yapılıyor, mısır unu pek kullanılmıyor. Mısır tarlaları da fındık tarlaları oluyor.

About corn...

At one time, corn was our everything, our bread. Our all fields had been sowed corn. And its work was much and very hard. It is a three seasonal plant. From spring to autumn one used to do its work. At the first the field is spaded, after a certain period, the earth of the field is crumbled. Then the field had been sowed corn, when right time came. When corns had sprouted, grown up and been about 10 or 15 cm., some of them had been break off and the soil had been hoed. And about one month after the first hoeing, came the second one. The corn seedlings had been grown up again, and had been cleaned from wild/exotic grasses, and to protect them from strong wind, some soil had been piled up their roots. At this time, the height of the corn reach to the under the man’s knee.
...
Our bread had been made from this flour. Firewood cooking bread was very delicious.
In the past (about 20-25 years ago), white flour (wheat flour) had been used up only at month of Ramazan, a holy month for the all Muslims. But nowadays most of bread are being made of wheat flour, corn flour used only in some meals as a part ingredients and sometimes bread is made flour of corn only to remember for those good days.

Merhaba Ahmet,

Bravo!

Merhaba Ahmet,

It's hard to imagine how local people use this slope field for corn cultivate. This shows their fighter soul and clever way to usage. Very good view while adding beautiful village and nature textures at background. Congratulations.

Best Regards,

PS. Sorry for my late visit, I was on assignment.

Interesting to see the corn planted on a steep slope. Well composed image so our eye follows the slight curve at the edge of the field to the village in the valley. Good use of the tree on the left to frame the scene. Well done
