Photographers Note
Let me take some landscapes! ;)
Abant Lake/Bolu
1995 winter. It was one of the most freezing winters in that area.. (looks like this year's winter is even worse in Turkey though..)
The lake was nearly frozen i remember. I shot this with Technical Pan film which had the best b/w resolution in those years (25 ISO afaik). Its also well-known with its crispy, contrasty look..
Some information about the lake:
It is most probably the most famous lake in Turkey. It is 30 kilometers away from Bolu, and you can reach it from the crossing on the Ankara-Istanbul highway. The lake is at the end of a 22-kilometer drive. The seven-kilometer walk around the lake offers a great opportunity to enjoy the area. Those who dont wish to walk can ride horseback or complete the tour on a horse cart. Abant lake is surrounded with pine trees. The manner in which the lake was formed is a topic of discussion. Its deepest point is 45 meters. The countryside is pleasantly different in each season. Water lilies embellish the surface in summer. It is also famous for its trout. Accommodation is available.

Merhaba Evren,
Great atmosphere. Good choice of B&W technique. I like the tones and shapes on the water. Magic light and tranquility. So it's a good capture. All the best. Tesekkur. maki

Stark, confident winter scene here, Evren. I think the reeds in the foreground make the shot in many ways - they're also a very strong "oriental" touch in the compo.
Very interesting and worthwhile change of pace from you.
Thanks.
best,
Francis

Merhaba Evren. Wonderful landscape. The reflections are great and the bark clouds over the snowy hill and cold water are great. nice work.

evren bey,

Amazing to see such a picture in your gallerie Evren, it looks like a very very old picture, it think your dramatic B&W emphazises the branches desolation in the foreground. I like the mood here
Well done

Hello Evren - the reflections are lovely and the stormy sky makes a great contrast over the calm water, certainly different than your style but beatifully executed, the BW makes it more artistic and creative, but for this type of shot I would also like to see a colour version.
