[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Open your gates !

On Tuesday and Wednesday (29-30 April) I made a short trip to Safranbolu, Bartın, Amasra and Devrek. Those little settlements on the western Black Sea region are still well kept, with their old houses, habits and handcrafts still been practised.
Now for just another single day I am going to share those "beauties" with you.
After my last 8 entries this one is the nineth. And shows a wall detail of the Genuese fortresses in Amasra. According to the architectural elements (for example terracotta roses around the arch)during Byzantine period this gate was been closed and a window was been created.
A gate through which people had passed for almost 1000 years, serves nowadays as window ! Turkey is full of such hidden beauties dating back for many thousands of years !

Kapılarını aç !

Salı ve Çarşamba günleri (29-30 Nisan) Batı Karadenizin şirin köşelerinden Safranbolu, Bartın, Amasra ve Devrek’e iki günlük bir seyahat yaptım.
Karadenizin bu çok keyifli köşeleri hala çok iyi korunmuş durumda ve eski geleneklerini sürdürüyorlar.
Önümüzdeki 1 gün daha bu saydığım yerlerin güzelliklerini paylaşacağım sizlerle.
Bundan evvelki sekiz kareden sonra bu dokuzuncu kare.
Amasradaki Ceneviz kalesinin eski bir kapısı.
Kemerin üzerindeki terrakotta süslere bakılırsa, muhtemelen Bizans döneminde, kapı yanları ve alt kısmı örülerek bir pencere haline getirilmiş.
Yani 1000 sene kadar evvelinde içinden geçilen bir kapı artık içinden dış dünyaya bakılan bir pencere haline gelmiş.
Ülkemiz, binlerce senelik geçmişi ile, böylesi güzelliklerle dolu !
