Sunset in Turgutreis. Formerly named Karatoprak, it was renamed in 1972 after Ottoman Admiral Turgut Reis who was born there in 1485. Also known as Dragut he was famous for his expeditions along the coasts of France, Spain, Italy and North Africa also for his part in the siege of Malta where he died in battle on the 23rd June 1565.
In Sabanci Park there is a waterfront memorial that marks the place where he set sail.

Very soft and colourfully picture, also a lovely contrast with the umbrellas in foreground.
Sharpness and clarity are perfect taken.
Excellent composition, nice presentation.
Very well done, TFS.

a lovely, romantic scenery on the coast of Turkey. A fine sunset picture, totally calm as far as the sea, the colours and the deserted seats are concerned. You managed the low light and the reflecting surface very effectively, the palette of harmonious, graduating tones is superb. The parasols add a fine, rhythmical pattern. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,

Turgutreis has such sentimental value to me and your lovely photo brings back memories of yestercentury when my parents were still around and had a vacation home halfway between Bodrum and Turgutreis. Whenever I visited them, we would go to Turgutreis more often than Bodrum because the latter had got too crowded and commercialized.

My kind of beach. Not really a fan of central Bodrum or Marmaris. Wonderful sunset colours and a tranquil mood captured perfectly here. Good sharpness and graphism. Nice reflections in the water too. Good repetition of the umbrellas although I never use them. Tfs!

The thumbnail of this one stands out in your gallery and when I opened it I confirmed that it is indeed a wonderful photo, very neatly composed and with gorgeous colours. It brings me very good memories, although I don'y know this part of Turkey.
TFS, regards, José.
