Datça Peninsula is a prized location for tourists visiting Turkey, especially by sea, because of the beauty of its many coves and larger bays, which are favored ports of call for those undertaking the celebrated Blue Cruise along Turkey's spectacular southwest coast. Boats (usually gulets) depart either from Bodrum or Marmaris, or from Datça itself for these tours.

A Gulet is a traditional design of a two-masted wooden sailing vessel from the south-west coast of Turkey, although similar vessels can be found all around the eastern Mediterranean. Today this type of vessel, varying in size from 14 to 35 metres, is now very popular for tourist charters although, for considerations of crew economy, diesel power is now almost universally used and many are not properly rigged for sailing.

Marvellous golden mood, Alex. Good to see the bathers in balance with the boat and the mountains in the distance but it's the reflections and tones that make this image so atractive.

Ciao Ale. Tutto qua? Non avevi di meglio oggi? Scherzi a parte: questa è una delizia per la resa soft dei colori e per l'ottima scelta compositiva. Entrabe le situazione -barca e persone in acqua- spiccano in controluce. Ottimo il riflesso e lo sfondo in leggero offuscamento.

Hi Alessandro,

You have some nice pictures in gallery, strong colours and always a good composition with great light. Also here your found soft warm light what glows over the whole image and makes it a kind of dreamy romantic feeling to it. The swimmers and the boat are well placed in the framing....a very nice shot.

Questa luce é speciale, Alessandro. So che é giorno,eppure l'immagine sembra soffusa di un colore lunare. Era mattino, molto presto, vero? Splendida foto, divisa in due campi distinti: quello reale e concreto, i nuotatori allegri e vitali, in quello spicchio di sole; la barca, in disparte, e come sognante sul suo quieto riflesso, abbandonata a se stessa e pensosa, in acque appena sveglie dalla nottata. Anche le barche pensano e sognano, sai?

Wonderful photo, splendid light and colours and it must be fantastic to take a bath early in the morning, admiring such a view (if the water is not to cold). Nice boat. I like it.
My son is now in Bertinoro and after conference he will stay some days in .. Rimini.
