Kapikiri Island- Bafa Lake
The lake is located in the south of the Meander plain and faces the ancient Mount Latmos (Besparmak Mountains). Originally it was a gulf in the sea blocked up by the alluvium of the Meander River. The old village of Kapikiri, located on the north-eastern shore of the lake, mingles with the ruins of Heracleia by Latmos. The ancient city was a port built by the Ionians at the bottom of the Gulf of Latmos. The island is called Kapikiri Island. During the 7th century AD, certain hermits traveled from the Sinai and built chapels and monasteries along the shores of the Bafa Lake and on its tiny islands. Lake Bafa is spread over a large area between Didim and Milas.

Hi Selen,
Beautiful landscape with very good colors and sharpness. Maybe, I cropped a little bit the sky to to profit more of the foreground.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful and original area.
Cordially,
Christophe

Hi Selem, you've crafted an interesting image. It captures the wide expanse very well and the lights as well. There's an element of serenity in the image as the waters are calm with some lovely reflection of the ruins. The colours are great pastel blues. The brightness is underrated and subdues but overall the sot is great. TFS and regards...aadil

Hi Selen. Well composed with nice foreground, including the copper coloured shrub. The ruins in the middle distance provide great interest and detail. The haze in the distance softens the mountains and adds to the peaceful atmosphere. well done. Selam. Klaudio.

Merhaba Selen,
Fabulous view of a place I had never heard of. Before my friends visit Turkey, I want them to visit your gallery, featuring superb shots and surpassing informative notes. The composition and colors are first rate. The water must be quite shallow, but I cannot imagine you waded into the water.
Selam ve saygilar,

Selam Selen, this is a beautiful image. I like your POV and composition here - the autumn-coloured shrub on the left adds much to the photo. Even though I know Turkey well, I have never been to this place. I will remember and visit it soon b/c of your shot. Inşallah! Regards,
Ryno
