This photo was taken two days ago at Love Road (Sevgi Yolu) / Alsancak /IZMIR. Four painters paint pictures at this street. He is known "Twins", in Turkish "ikizler".

Harika bir S&B fotograf... Gercekten de nefis bir portre fotografi... Gecen yillar, aci-tatli anilar, edinilen tecrübeler... Bütün bunlari modelin yüzünden okumak mümkün... Tek söyleyecegim (eger monitörüm beni yaniltmiyorsa) geri plan tamamen karanlik olsaydi, modelin yüzü daha fazla öne cikabilirdi... Tabii ki bu benim düsüncem... Ama fotografinizi cok begendim...

Let me first go to this image, Ali. (I was away from the net for a couple of days unfortunately).
This portrait in black and white is the zenith of your perfection as a photo artist.
I am impressed with the point of view you adopted here and the details you chose to include. They form the soul of this image. The empty space covering almost half of the image space is just indispensable; the photo would be incomplete without it.

Savoir se servir du flash n'est pas évident. Ici il est là pour attenuer la lumière du soleil et faire ressortir ce qui serait resté dans l'ombre. Le portrait c'est un domaine de la photo qui est moins simple qu'on le croit. Ici c'est réussi le cadrage très serré révèle la personnalité.

i'm a huge fan of these close up portraits ... and this one is a beauty! i like your choice of subject because of all the facial hair which is in terrific focus. the dark background really makes him stand out too.

Don't you find that old people are so... monumentally expressive? This is a very good portrait, I like it in bw and I like that long, concentrated, melancholic look...
